Dallas Hall on the campus of Southern Methodist University. The building, the first on the SMU campus, celebrated its 100th birthday in 2012. Its cornerstone was laid on the afternoon of Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, 1912, at a ceremony attended by prominent businesspeople, Methodist leaders and Dallas residents, whom the building’s name honors. The domed building at the center of campus was modeled after the library rotunda at the University of Virginia.
